I am working on a project where l had to design a dinner for an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Montreal. I am planning to serve a Thai food platter and one of the items in the platter is fish cakes. Meat balls have similar quality to fish cakes, and at the height of 40000 feet, they would actually expand to the size of tennis balls. Hence, l was wondering if l were to serve fish cakes on an airplane, would it have the same problem?

If I were to serve Thai fish cakes on an airplane, would the fish cakes expand at the height of 40000 feet

They wo not expand, the cabins are pressurized to 8000 ft, so you food is safe, if it was not safe, you could not serve soda or beer on the flights either

SOUNDS GOOD GO FOR IT!

i've never heard of anyone taking thai fish cakes on an airplane but i do not think you will have a problem. fish cakes are actually quite denser than meatballs in that meatballs will usually reform into a 1-in thick circle if u squish it down. fishcakes will more than likely just stay in their original form

I am no expert, but since airplane cabins are pressurized to allow the passengers to remain alive during the flight, I would think that there would be no effect on the food served either.

I understand what you mean if they were in the outside air at that height, but it should not matter inside the pressurized plane.
